Vacation
Dear students,
I'm going on my trip to Europe today and the daily update for this blog will be suspended. During my leave, if I can have access to Internet, I'll update this blog to tell you things of interest.
Anyway, enjoy your summer vacation.
Regards,
Mr. Fu

A letter to the coming 7AB1 students
Dear students,
You've just received your final academic results. Not many of you actually care too much. You've accepted the fact that it is quite impossible for you to pass your AL subjects. Think about it. What can you do if you get 2 passes in the two languages and nothing else. What can you do? What will happen if you can only get one pass? In an even worse scenario, you'll just get "F" and "U" only. Don't forget why you are at NMC. You told yourself that you were a bit lazy and you will not be the same in AL. Well, after one year, things haven't changed much. You still get the same bad results. Can you give yourself a better explanation?
Maybe I was naive. I thought that I could change you and made you better "NMC" students. But I think I have failed, at least for now. If you want to escape the fate of becoming another "NMC" student, please, please don't waste this summer. DO SOMETHING NOW! I hope I can see a better AB1 after the summer vacation.
Make better use of your vacation.
Mr. Fu

To be or not to be?
Dear 6AB1 students,
As I told you all in today's lesson, I've been unhappy with the fact that no one are bothered to visit this blog anymore. For now, I want to collect information about our way ahead. Should I continue or not? If you think I should, please give me suggestions on the type of materials I should post.
There is one important thing I want to state now. If there's no reply to this, I will simply stop updating in 3 days' time.
Regards,
Mr. Fu

Parents' Day
Dear 6AB1 students,
I know you're all under stress today. I've done my best to convey the message to your parents. You may not be happy with what I've said, but I think those messages are important for you and for your parents. No matter whether you are happy or not, I really hope all of you can reflect on your problems and do better next time.
Regards,
Mr. Fu

Happy 2008
Dear 6AB1 students,
2008 has arrived. What's your New Year's resolution? Have you made up your mind to (or not to) do something starting 2008? You can share with me tomorrow morning (if you are not too busy doing homework).
Best regards,
Mr. Fu

Christmas assignments
Dear 6ab1 fellow students,
I know you're still having fun during your first long holidays at NMC. Still, I have to remind you all that you have your homework to finish. I've heard from Andria that you have M&S homework to do, and I want to remind you all that you have to finish your Combined (the orange textbook) Set 1 Section E. We will check the answers together next Thursday.
Finish your homework first and enjoy the rest of the Christmas holidays.
Best regards,
Mr. Fu

1216 Sports Carnival
Dear 6AB1 students,Here's the map of the venue (The Sir Philip Hadden-Cave Sports Field). You can either take the school's shuttle bus at the train station or you can do a bit of exercise by walking uphill along the Station Road. Once you've reached the roundabout, I'm sure you can see the sports field.
Regards,
Mr. Fu

Academic vocabulary
Dear 6AB1 students,
The article and video I have just posted are about the reading topic I talked about in today's lesson. I strongly recommend you to go and take a look. You can then know more about the issue of "digital divide".
There was a classmate of yours telling me her problem of learning new English words. I here try to recommend a good website from PolyU to you all. This website contains some lists of words that you should be able to know at this stage of learning. There are a total of ten lists. For each word you can click on the links to get a definition, example sentences, pronunciation and a Chinese translation. I think the website is handy for you if you want to start learning new words more systematically.
Try your best to make use of the website.
Regards,
Mr. Fu

New focus
Dear 6AB1 fellow students,
I would like to introduce more world news to you. Starting from today, selected political and social news from all over the world will be posted on this site. You may find it difficult to comprehend the news as you may not even be interested in knowing these happenings at all. As you are all in F.6 now, I think it is the right time to broaden your horizons. I hope you all can try your best.
The first round of presentations is about to be finished. For the new round, I want you all to choose a piece of news from my website and present it to the whole class. Here are some additional requirements.
1. DO NOT simply give a summary of the news story. (You will be asked to present again in the following lesson.)
2. You need to show us that you understand the issue involved by telling your classmates your opinion.
3. Be prepared to answer my additional questions.
4. Your presentation should last more than 2 minutes.
I know it would give you some pressure. However, I do believe in one thing. Pressure motivates you to do better.
Regards,
Mr. Fu
